“Be
kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and
happier.” - Blessed
Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Have
you ever imagined the heavy load most of the people you meet in life are
carrying? Think of what a kind word, smile or gesture would mean to them. KINDNESS
is: being tender, sympathetic, compassionate, tolerant, selfless, forgiving,
and understanding. It can bring light to darkness, give hope, comfort,
direction and inspiration where there was none. It can reach into the most
hardened hearts and be proof of life’s goodness. It melts away anxiety and
builds up faith and confidence.
Considering the power of this gift, which costs nothing, and from which so much joy can be reaped, let us make it our mission to do as many kind acts as we can. KINDNESS is one of the fruits of LOVE, which is God’s greatest gift to us, and we are called upon
to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. KINDNESS is BLISS to both GIVER
and RECEIVER, so BE KIND!
In Times of Difficulty
In this world of disappointments and trials, we all need encouragement. Imagine how you would feel if when faced with problems you felt like no one really cares. We are often afraid of sharing our problems with others for we are not sure of their reactions. But it is good to share our burdens so that others can comfort us and pray for us. When someone opens up his heart to us and exposes his hurts, afflictions and weaknesses, it is our Christian duty to encourage them by sympathizing and praying for them. Don’t judge, criticize and blame them. This will only push them to despair, for this was definitely not the response they expected when they decided to pour out the content of their hearts to us. We are not better than others. We are all human and vulnerable and could easily find ourselves in a similar situation too. We should act like people who have been touched by God’s Love and remind others that God Loves them and will see them through their trials.
